The iPod Weekly Pick showcases some of the best songs that have ever been produced. It can be from now, then, or way back. It’s the type of song you’ll hear early in the morning and will be singing for the rest of the week.
This week, I chose the new Evanescence song “Call Me When You’re Sober”. It’s got some powerful lyrics, and awesome music going behind it. Some people don’t view it as their best song, but for me, it’s a hit. Check out iTunes for a download.

This week, I choose “Breaking Free” from the Disney Channel Original Movie soundtrack, High School Musical. It is sung by Andrew Seeley (uncredited Troy), Zac Efron (Troy), and Vanessa Anne Hudgens (Gabriella). Click here for a Wikipedia explanation, and check out iTunes for a download!

The soundtrack for the Disnet Channel Original Movie, High School Musical, was released on January 10, 2006, and debuted at number 143 on the Billboard 200, selling 6469 copies in the first week. It quickly climbed to number 1 on the Billboard album chart in March, and again in late March of 2006. It has been certified 3x Platinum.
The album reached number 1 on both iTunes Best Selling Albums and Amazon.com’s Top Sellers for Music. It also produced five songs on the iTunes Top 10 Best Selling Songs, and produced five Top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100. This is the first TV soundtrack to be No. 1 in the Billboard since Miami Vice.
